The store name is derived from Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), a type of therapy that uses a machine to help a person who has obstructive sleep apnea breathe more easily during sleep. The CPAP Store boasts 2000 square feet of space, a professional consultation room and a storefront area for other home medical equipment.

J & L Medical Services became a mainstay for respiratory care six years ago when it was started by two locally-renowned respiratory therapists, John Loyer and Lynn Tata.
