Oxygen Therapy Devices

When it comes to delivering supplemental oxygen to patients, there are various oxygen delivery devices available that can be used with stationary concentrators or oxygen cylinders. These devices include nasal cannulas, oxygen masks, and conserving device regulators. The selection of an oxygen delivery device depends on the individual patient's requirements and oxygen levels. Your physician will prescribe the most suitable device for you based on a thorough assessment of your specific needs.

  • Continuous Nasal Cannula: A nasal cannula provides a continuous flow of oxygen through tubing from the oxygen source to a patient's nostrils. The oxygen flow through a nasal cannula can be adjusted to as high as 6 liters per minute (LPM).
  • High-Flow Cannula: A high-flow nasal cannula provides a continuous flow of oxygen through tubing from the oxygen source to a patient's nostrils at a high flow rate. The flow of oxygen through a nasal cannula can be adjusted to as high as 15 liters per minute (LPM).
  • Simple Oxygen Mask: This mask delivers a continuous flow of oxygen to the nose and mouth and is typically used when high-liter flows of oxygen are required.
  • Oxygen Conserving Device Regulator: A Regulator with Oxygen Conserving Device (OCD) is designed to deliver oxygen only when triggered by a patient's inhalation. In addition to this feature, it also includes a built-in continuous flow setting.
